La Joya Water
500,000 Gallon Elevated Water Storage Tower

All of the planning, financing and budgeting are coming to fruition. The 500,000 gallon elevated water tower in FM 2221 and Sailda del Sol is under construction on time and within contractual budget. This water tower will bring much needed pressure and volume improvement to an area that at one time was ordered into a "boil water first notice" by the Texas Commission and Environmental Quality (TCEQ). When finally constructed, the water tower will hold approximately 500,000 gallons of treated water, stand almost 160' feet in the air and will have a base pressure delivery of 60 pounds per square inch. Caldwell Constructors are the tank erectors and Melden and Hunt Engineers are the construction managers on this project. The tower is just east of La Joya ISD's Javier Saenz Middle School on a portion of property donated as a perpetual easement from the school district. The tower is expected to be in service by August 2008.
